Hm, by now you are probably wondering why you should become a left sider versus a right? Well, there are many reasons as to why I truly believe that the democratic candidates would be better to run our country. I think the most important reason why you should vote Democrat is this: All the Democratic candidates believe we need to get the troops out of Iraq as soon as possible, but almost all of the Republican candidates support President Bush's plans in Iraq and as president, they will call for more troops to go to Iraq (Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, John McCain, Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney). So far, 4,000 soldiers have died in Iraq and 30,000 have been wounded. There is no ending to the war in site so these numbers will keep growing and growing. Is this "war" really worth loosing so many lives over? Well many of the Republican candidates think so! Candidates such a Giuliani & McCain want a "victory" in Iraq and believe that taking troops out would be surrendering. On the other hand, Click to view a video Obama's view of the war & watch the full video to hear his plans for troop withdrawal (Youtube won't work in school setting). The Democrat's also understand the threats of global warming and they have plans to start fixing global warming in the United States. Click to view Hillary Clinton's plans to deal with the environment issues that the United States is facing today. Those are just two issues that the presidential candidates have been adressing, but there are numerous other issues that the candidates address that I feel the Democratic candidates would be superior at handling if a leftsider was president.
